Sixth Form Open Evening 2017

Flyer imgThis year our Sixth Form Open Evening will be on the 16th February 2017. We will be providing 'taster sessions' where you will be able to see our teachers delivering real A Level content in the subjects that you are interested in. We look forward to seeing you.

It is now possible to apply online. If you are currently in Year 11 and would like to apply for a place, please follow the link and complete all applicable questions. Visit From Mayor

Mayor with Student CouncilThe school were very pleased to welcome past pupil and Mayor of RCT Rhys Lewis to the school this week.

Councillor Lewis took a tour of the school, meeting pupils and getting involved in lessons. He also met with the school council for a rigorous question and answer session.

Councillor Lewis is the youngest ever Mayor of RCT and is probably the youngest ever in the country!

Director of Learning - Mathematics Vacancy

vacancies2Due to the promotion of the current Director of Learning Mathematics, the governing body is seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Director of Learning - Mathematics to join our outstanding Maths Department. The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher, have first rate leadership skills and have the aspiration to become a senior leader. We are an inclusive school and we welcome applications from both Catholics and non Catholics.

The school will be holding an evening for all interested candidates on the 11th January at 5pm. This will be an informal opportunity to meet the maths team, senior leadership, tour the school and meet some pupils. Light refreshments will be provided and there will be opportunities to ask any questions. Candidates are not required to attend, but it is an excellent opportunity to see what the department and school is 'all about'. If you would like to attend

School Blazer Consultation 2017

Blazer ConsultationThe school is consulting on the introduction of blazers as part of our school uniform. It is proposed that the blazers will be phased in from September 2017 and become compulsory from September 2018. Blazers will be compulsory for the new Year 7 and Year 12 in September 2017. The consultation closes on Friday 3rd February. Responses should be sent to the school admin email by this date.

Years 8 and 10 Internal Exams

gymYears 8 and 10 internal exams will commence Monday 30th January and end Friday 10th February.

Students have been informed via letter and assemblies. Students have been given a revision schedule to plan their revision.

Good examination outcomes are fundamental to young people's employment and education prospects and we want to try and help your child achieve the best possible results. It would be greatly appreciated that you could support your child at home and ensure they revise for all exams. Examination timetables will be distributed shortly and are also linked below:

Shakespeare Schools Festival 2016

SSFstageOn 21st November 2016 at the Muni Arts Centre our Year 10 GCSE Drama group performed their modern interpretation of The Taming of the Shrew.

The Shakespeare Schools Festival called it "A challenging and intelligent Taming of the Shrew!" and the full appraisal is well worth a read:
