Homework Schedules - Summer 2013

homeworkStudies in Britain have shown that learners who are supported by their families with homework are likely to perform significantly better in academic examinations at 16 years old and beyond than those who do not. If we want our learners to be successful at Cardinal Newman, family involvement is important. Please download the relevant homework schedule for the summer term. Homework Year 7, Homework Year 8, Homework Year 9.

The Shakespeare Schools Festival

eye2eye1A Midsummer Night's Dream

We are delighted to announce that Cardinal Newman School is taking part once again in the annual Shakespeare Schools Festival.

This year, we have decided to perform A Midsummer Night's Dream. We will be one of 700 primary and secondary schools working with Shakespeare Schools Festival to give our pupils the opportunity to 'experience the thrill of mastering Shakespeare.' Each school will perform an abridged 30 minute version of their chosen play, and each school is free to stage the play in any way they choose, provided it meets the guidelines set out by SSF.

Cynon Valley Crime Prevention Association

Cardinal Newman Year 7 Presentation

Our presentation was about animal cruelty and the safety of animals. There are many types of animal cruelty like leaving pets out in the cold or ignoring your pet. Under or over feeding your pet are other examples of animal cruelty. We were at the presentation for the day. It was a fun and exciting experience. There were a number of presentations that day and they were all good they were all about different thing like alcohol or safety of drugs. That day we were lucky enough to meet someone who ran with the Olympic torch we also had a picture of us holding the Olympic torch. There were over one hundred people from different schools watching the presentations. We all got a certificate awarded to us for our participation that day. We all enjoyed the day and so did the other schools. Every school put allot of effort into their presentations.
