visualiser2Thank you to the Governing Body for funding 'Visualisers' for every classroom in the school. These allow pupils' work etc to be easily projected onto the interactive white boards. These are valuable teaching tools and will help us continue in our journey of school improvement. The school will also shortly be taking delivery of a set of laptops also funded by the governors. The governors receive funds from parents who contribute a small monthly amount by direct debit. 100% of money received goes directly to school improvement. If you would like to contribute please download the attached form and return to your bank. Standing Order Form.pdf

Headteacher's End of Year Message

Thank you to all pupils and staff for all of their hard work during this academic year. Thank you also to parents and governors for their help and support. We have set ourselves the target of becoming an excellent school and we are well on our way to this goal. We are well above local and national targets on every important measure. We are aiming to improve again next year. This means we are increasing our expectations of the pupils in terms of academic results, effort, behaviour and uniform. I am sure that parents share these aspirations for their children and will support us in this endeavour.

Please ensure that all pupils return next year in correct full uniform, fully equipped and ready to work. Anything other than this will be an unnecessary distraction. A full uniform list is included below for your information.

Our hopes and prayers are with the pupils who are waiting for examination results in the summer. I wish them all the best of luck.

I hope that everyone connected with the school has a safe, happy and relaxing break. I look forward to seeing all pupils back in September.

A number of staff are leaving Cardinal Newman at the end of this academic year. Mrs Morgan, Mr Evans, Mrs Williams, Ms Davies, Mrs Cox, Mr Hankins and Mr Fecci are all moving on to various new challenges in September. They have over 120 years of service to the school between them. Each of them has had a large impact on the school and on the pupils that they have come into contact with. The governors of Cardinal Newman would like to thank them for their hard work over the years and wish them the very best for the future.

Rory Simmonds,
