Record Breaking Results at Cardinal Newman School

DSC 0301

This has been a notable year for results at Key Stage Three, Key Stage Four and Key Stage Five. We achieved our best ever results at Key Stage Three for the Core Subject Indicator (CSI) of Maths, English and Science combined. At A level we increased our percentage of students achieving A/A* and maintained the numbers achieving A*-C and A*-E. We have recorded our fifth set of record breaking results in 5 years at GCSE.

71.4% of pupils achieved at least five GCSEs including Maths and English. This is significantly above the local authority and national averages. This is the second year running that the school has broken the 70% barrier and the fifth year of continuous improvement in the average results for our students in terms of capped points score. Nearly one in five students achieved at least 5 A/A* grades, including Maths and English. This is a record for Cardinal Newman.

I am extremely pleased with the results this year. These results cement our place as one of the top performing schools in the local authority and beyond. We have a number of very academic students who have done very well indeed, but I am proud of every single student. What the headline figures don't necessarily show is the massive amounts of hard work that go into this from students and staff. I am blessed to have such a fabulous staff and I thank them for their dedication in ensuring that all of our students meet their potential. I would also like to thank parents and governors for their support.
