Art & Design

The Department of Art & Design aim to inspire and motivate all pupils at Cardinal Newman School. To draw out the creative powers within each individual and to encourage pupils to appreciate the Artistic environments we live in.

The world around us is enhanced by Art, Craft and Design. Pupils are encouraged to use their Knowledge and Understanding to inform their sense of place, culture, style and identity in today’s ever changing society.

The Art department offers Art/Ceramics and printmaking in Key stage 3, 4,5 and also contributes to the schools cross-curricular themes.

The Department has arranged many school trips to places like Barcelona, Paris, Cornwall, London and Cardiff Bay. The department also supports the spiritual and moral development of each pupil and takes an active part in all school mission activities.
